Meet Our Vets

The Old Golfhouse has been looking after the Cats Protection Dereham cats for 11 years. The vets and nurses at Watton visit the adoption centre once a week and have surgical and medical cases brought to the surgery on a Tuesday. It can be extremely busy as the Cats Protection does not always know how many cats or kittens are going to be brought in.

The Old Golfhouse Veterinary Group is made up of four branches; based in Watton, Attleborough, Thetford and Brandon who work very closely with Cats Protection and perform all of their operations; including early neutering on a weekly basis. We also visit Cats Protection Adoption Centre on a weekly basis to give veterinary care and advice including vaccines, check-ups etc.

We have an excellent team of highly qualified vets, receptionists and nurses (Our Head Nurse is based at the Watton branch and won the Hills National Veterinary Nurse of the Year in 2009) and this year our practice has been nominated for Veterinary Practice of the Year. We have fantastic first opinion Veterinary facilities available and are lucky enough to have access to radiographic and ultrasound facilities at our Watton and Thetford branches, we also have our own comprehensive     in-house diagnostic laboratory allowing us to process samples quickly and efficiently at competitive prices. We have a vet at the Watton branch who performs acupuncture on both cats and dogs and has had huge success with patients.

The Old Golfhouse Veterinary Group is a unique practice due to the close-knit and friendly nature of our team. We regularly hold charity fund-raising events and our most recent; an animal quiz in February this year raised more than £500 for Cats Protection. In 2011 we were the winners of National Pet Month (a charity organised fund-raiser that aims to raise public awareness of the importance of Veterinary Professionals and of pet care). The Veterinary Group has an enthusiastic and dedicated team who are passionate about animals and their role within the community.
